Job Summary:

Examples of Work Performed

The clinician (MD or DO) in this position will function as a primary care provider in a patient-centered medical home (PCMH practice) within the University of Colorado Health system, providing high quality care and supervising residents and students as needed. This position is based at the Women's Integrated Services in Health (WISH) Clinic, which is designed to provide full service health care for busy women. WISH provides primary care, outpatient GYN services and coordination of specialty care. This position is posted at the Senior Instructor level; in the event that one's experience exceeds that of a Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor will be considered.

Position Duties

Clinical Care
  • Provides full scope ambulatory primary care in women's health at Women's Integrated Services in Health (WISH) at the University of Colorado Outpatient Clinics (Aurora and Lone Tree).
  • Participates as needed in chart review and coding compliance activities.
  • Exemplifies the highest standards in patient care as a faculty member and role model to staff, students, and residents.
  • Participates in decisions regarding practice operation and clinic and hospital quality measures and programs.
  • Shares responsibility for night, weekend, and vacation coverage with the WISH faculty practice.

Teaching and Mentoring
  • ­Provides education to residents and medical students during their ambulatory rotation. Engages in teaching medical students and residents as needed.

­Administrative/Professional Development
  • Maintains eligibility for School of Medicine Faculty.
  • ­Keeps abreast of the latest developments in field, both academically and through applied skill.
  • May participate in clinical research projects (but not required to be a clinician-researcher unless pursuing traditional promotion path).
    Accepts other responsibilities specifically assigned by the Medical Director.
  • Attends and presents at conferences, meetings and trainings in order to maintain certification and enhance professional skills; participates in faculty development activities.

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located at Women's Integrated Services in Health (WISH) at the University of Colorado Outpatient Clinics (Aurora and Lone Tree).

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:

Senior Instructor
  • Education: Terminal degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO). Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Graduation from an accredited Family Medicine Residency program.
  • Special Skills: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching students and/or residents.

Assistant Professor
  • Education: Terminal degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO). Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Graduation from an accredited Family Medicine Residency program.
  • Special Skills: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching students and/or residents.

Associate Professor
  • Education: Terminal degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO). Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Graduation from an accredited Family Medicine Residency program and 7+ years' experience working in primary care.
  • Special Skills: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching students and/or residents. Ability to meet the School of Medicine's criteria for associate professor.

Professor
  • Education: Terminal degree in Medicine or Osteopathy (MD or DO). Board Certified in Family Medicine.
  • Experience: Graduation from an accredited Family Medicine Residency program and 10+ years' experience working in primary care.
  • Special Skills: Ability to obtain Colorado Medical License and possession of a current DEA Certificate. Ability to be fully credentialed with the UCH system and UPI Managed Care. Experience and enthusiasm for teaching students and/or residents. Ability to meet the School of Medicine's criteria for full professor.

Preferred Qualifications (all positions)
  • Experience in outpatient gynecological procedures
  • Experience with transgender care
  • Experience in an integrate practice/patient-centered medical home (PCMH) environment
  • Experience or interest in educational research and faculty development

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

Senior Instructor:

$195,000 – $215,000, plus the possibility of incentives based on clinical FTE.

Assistant Professor:

195,000– $215,000, plus the possibility of incentives based on clinical FTE.

Associate Professor:

$201,000 – $220,000 plus the possibility of incentives based on clinical FTE.

Professor:

$210,000 – $225,000 plus the possibility of incentives based on clinical FTE.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
