This is a full-time, exempt salary, 52 weeks per year position. Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., some flexibility required.

This position is located in the vibrant and diverse city of Madison, Wisconsin's 2nd largest city and state capitol. ORGANIZATIONAL FUNCTION AND RELATIONSHIPS:
This role will concept ideas, determine direction and execute all video for the marketing department. Typical day-to-day responsibilities will include brainstorming, planning, studio and production time, interviewing people, shooting A and B-roll footage, collaborating and communicating with diverse segments of people, savvy knowledge of microphones, lighting and complex software/hardware, skillful insertion of closed-captioning and dynamic graphics, animation and special effects to videos. Overall, the characteristics and skill-sets needed for this role are vast and complex so the right candidate will be as comfortable working autonomously as they are working in teams. Physical dexterity, creativity, patience, flexibility, energy, organization, passion and technical acumen are some of the primary characteristics needed to be successful in this role.
This position reports to the Creative Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
The following duties are typically expected of this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
  • Brainstorm and concept all video projects in the marketing department with full creative license including story-boarding, scouting, and location.
  • Serve as producer which includes organizing talent and coordinating crew in the setup of cameras, audio, lighting and communications for field and studio productions and brings our brand to life.
  • Oversee all video cameras in a variety of locations in the production of marketing programming.
  • Coordinate all activities of writers, directors and managers in production process.
  • Lead development and implementation of multimedia projects.
  • Determine production size, content and budget for all video.
  • Oversee budget for all video production.
  • Negotiate contracts with artistic personnel.
  • Negotiate and manage outside production vendors.
  • Monitor assigned projects to ensure that goals and objectives are completed according to schedule; collaborate with project teams to ensure all business needs are met.
  • Manage and operate production equipment, including audio and lighting equipment, for field and studio productions.
  • Use current technology to edit video segments on a variety of digital formats.
  • Perform full production of all video from concept to final output.
  • Develop and maintain college branding standards to be used all video production.
  • Develop specific video content for use in social media and on the college website.
  • Organize, maintain, and archive all video files. Maintain equipment inventory and field and production schedules.
  • Maintain continuous improvement to stay cutting edge with visual and audio content production and delivery.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES & SKILLS:
  • Ability to skillfully operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio and video equipment.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and schedules through project management.
  • Ability to configure, operate, and maintain studio and/or field audio, lighting and associated production equipment.
  • Adept of current video and audio editing techniques and software.
  • Mastery at post-production techniques, standards, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of video usage on social, websites, and other digital assets.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills with a strong desire to collaborate with team members.
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships within the college as well as externally,

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree; or four years (8,000 hours) of an equivalent combination of education and work experience directly related to the skills required for successfully performing this position.
Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
  • Two years (4,000 hours) of work experience.
