Testing Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Testing Coordinator reports directly to the Center for Disability Access and Resources (CDAR) and plays an integral role in the University's ability to provide reasonable accommodations for students with documented disabilities in compliance with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Testing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the department's testing accommodations for students with disabilities at all University of Idaho campuses and outreach programs. This includes hiring, training, supervising, and coordinating student/temporary employees to provide testing accommodation services; Scheduling readers/scribes; advocating on behalf of students regarding testing accommodations; and working directly with instructors to coordinate these accommodations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Medical, Adult, Organizational Leadership, Learning Development and Family Student, Communication, Family and Consumer Science; four additional years of experience (for a total of six) may substitute for a Bachelors Degree
- Two years working with students with disabilities
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with ADA and Section 504 requirements
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, developing spreadsheets, email and internet research
- Experience analyzing and organizing information
- Working with and using assistive technology
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters Degree
- Experience in a student disability office at a post-secondary institution
- Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations
- Demonstrated excellence in customer services
- Experience using interpersonal skills
- Knowledgeable of the University of Idaho policies/procedures, academic support services, and other campus resources
- Experience providing accommodations in a post-secondary setting using an information management system
- Excellent written and oral communication skills combined with the ability to exercise critical thinking and sound judgment
- Ability to initiate, coordinate, oversee, and complete various projects in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision
