Job Description:
The Supervisor for Field and Events is a non-bargaining unit position that provides supervisory direction for bargaining unit field staff employees on a year-round basis. This position also coordinates fulltime and part-time field staff for event work.

Please note that the hours of work are 11am - 7pm.

Qualifications:
  • Associates degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Parking and transportation operational experience necessary.
  • Supervisory experience necessary.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background and random drug screening.


Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Experience in supervising bargaining unit staff preferred.
  • Experience in a college or university setting preferred.
  • Flexibility with schedule a must. Position will work a regular shift, however, must be flexible and work overtime, including nights and weekends.


Responsibilities:
  • Works with various University departments such as the Department of Public Safety, Admissions, Office of Major Events, Board of Trustees, Student Experience, Advancement and External Affairs, union representatives and various organizations, to coordinate parking and transportation services.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director and the Associate Director to hire, train, and supervise, permanent and temporary event staff.
  • Serves as a liaison between management and field staff.
  • Monitors day-to-day operations of field staff to ensure proper parking procedures are followed.
  • Verifies employee time reporting.
  • Closes end-of-evening and event related work, including ensuring cash and cash receipt collections and equipment are handled properly.
  • Makes changes to schedules to provide adequate parking and event related staffing coverage and maintains an on-call temporary staff for daily, weekly, events.
  • Provides input on Performance, Partnership process, and employee development, including termination of field staff.
  • Responds to questions and complaints from students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • Maintains PTS vehicles, including vehicle records, and all aspects of ensuring vehicles are kept clean and in order.
  • Recommends ordering, disposal, and issuance of equipment and supplies, such as uniforms, fuel, etc.
  • As necessary, coordinates equipment and supply purchases.
  • All other duties as assigned.
