Department of Parking-Traffic Control

Job Summary

Provide first-line customer service to individuals regarding general parking and transportation matters to ensure a seamless operation. Provide day-to-day standard policy and procedural information to constituents and may perform routine problem resolution on matters pertaining to parking and transportation issues.

Responsibilities
  • Patrol designated area of campus on foot or in vehicle to enforce parking regulations; answer calls and complaints involving parking violations
  • Maintain, program repair
  • Maintain, repair and clean tools, equipment and work areas
  • Request permission to immobilize or tow vehicles that are illegally parked
  • Write and issue parking citations
  • Instruct the public in proper use of parking facilities
  • Observe parking and traffic conditions, taking appropriate actions to assist when needed
  • Use equipment unique to position such as two-way radio and hand-held computer to issue citations
  • Upload and download citation information from hand-held device and parking system
  • Perform various parking maintenance work such as layout, paint and erect signs for temporary, permanent, or special event parking
  • Follow all safety and other risk management policies in performance of work


Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Required Experience
  • One (1) or more year of work in a customer service related field


Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree

Preferred Experience
  • Supervisory experience


Proposed Salary

12.26 - $15.00 per hour

This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
