Job Summary
The Laboratory Coordinator oversees and supports the daily operations of the laboratory and research facilities for the School of Earth, Environment, and Sustainability (SEES), which includes the James H. Oliver, Jr., Institute for Coastal Plain Science and program in Geosciences.
Responsibilities
- Manage the administrative support system for the department's large enrollment introductory teaching laboratories
- Facilitate research activities conducted by faculty and graduate and undergraduate students in both laboratory and field settings
- Maintain the SEES website and manage social media to improve the SEES online presence
- Purchase and maintain teaching equipment and supplies, manage student teaching laboratory technicians and tutors, and ensure a safe and functional laboratory teaching environment
- Maintain equipment and chemical inventory reports
- Manage maintenance and use of research vehicles, update and enforce laboratory and research regulations
- Assist faculty and students with research projects in the laboratory and field when available
- Oversee the SEES computer laboratory
- Collaborate with university marketing to develop and manage social media outreach and education materials
- Assist in outreach and education activities and events
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
- Two (2) or more years of related work experience
Proposed Salary
$19.33 - $23.55 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
