POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Dean of Enrollment Services and Records, the Director of Admissions and Outreach Services provides leadership for Seattle Central College's strategic enrollment management initiatives related to outreach and admissions with successful progress toward orientation, testing, financial preparedness, registration and enrollment. In addition to overseeing programming and personnel in Admissions and Outreach Services, the Director works with stakeholders on campus and with external partners to develop and implement strategies to strengthen enrollment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Responsible for the leadership and oversight of the College's intake process, from inquiry to application.
  • Directs staff in the areas of Admissions and Outreach Services in development and implementation of plans to meet recruitment and enrollment targets as part of the overall college enrollment management strategy.
  • Fosters a culture of excellence, equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace and in all aspects of planning and implementation of enrollment strategies.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining a welcoming and efficient environment that promotes excellent student service in a fast-paced, multicultural setting.
  • Facilitate and increase college-wide awareness of recruitment and outreach initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage general recruitment, as well as campus visit and information sessions for identified programs.
  • Participate in the implementation and training of the new system-wide People Soft Student Management System (ctcLink) and/or future systems.
  • Develop, manage and review budgets and expenditures for Admissions and Outreach Services.
  • Oversee student records functions for Admissions staff ensuring compliance with records retention policies, family educational rights privacy act (FERPA), SBCTC rules and regulations and policies and procedures established by SCC.
  • Coordinates with high schools, community based organizations and funding agencies in support of connection and entry processes for groups
  • Actively engages with such external constituencies to increase enrollments
  • Understands the role and use of technology (e.g. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system) in support of prospective students through inquiry/enrollment/registration processes.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor's degree in BA in Education, Business Administration or related field and substantial work in a higher education environment.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, to include effective public speaking and writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that incorporates professional level work experience with diverse communities.
  • Strong change management practices and abilities to coach staff through uncertain times.
  • Strong knowledge of the principles and practices of Enrollment Services, admissions practices, records retention and FERPA.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in team building and staff development.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvements in service and efficiency.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of marketing principles related to higher education recruitment.
  • Supervision experience with the ability to coach others to reach peak performance; ability to develop strategic systems that guide staff to a common goal.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop recruitment strategic plans, with the ability to implement outcomes.
  • Strong event management skills to implement complex programs.
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively operate current software and technologies such as Microsoft Office Suite, database systems such as a CRM and various audiovisual hardware.
  • Must possess a valid, current Driver's license.
