Job Description:
The Director will manage all operations of Lubin House in NYC, assuring effective functioning of facility including management of $1.2M budget, 10 staff, and physical space including guest rooms, event spaces, offices, and an art gallery. The Director addresses all routine, scheduled and emergency maintenance issues through coordination with building management, Campus Planning, Design and Construction and external vendors.

The Director works with various city offices on required inspections of the building (DOB, FDNY, DOH, third party elevator inspectors). Promotes the use of Lubin House with the leadership, faculty and staff at the University.

This position is located at Lubin House, Syracuse University's home base for New York City operations, at East 61st Street in Manhattan. The expected salary range for this position in New York City is $100,000 - $140,000 annually. Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Demonstrated experience in facility management is required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of facilities management experience managing modern buildings is preferred.


Job Specific Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge/demonstrated experience in facility operations, building maintenance and event planning.
  • Familiarity with NYC building and fire codes.
  • Strong a/v and computer skills preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to be flexible in hours and responsibilities on any given day.


Responsibilities:
Manage all operations of Lubin House including $1.2M budget, the facility (12 guest rooms, six function rooms, and art gallery and several offices and personnel (six operations staff, three events staff and Director of the Fisher Center.

Work with NYS and NYC agencies to ensure building is up to code, and up to date on all required inspections. Work with Campus Planning, Design and Construction and external vendors on building repairs and upgrades. Serve as primary contact for all vendors (HVAC, Fire Safety, elevator, water treatment, etc.); coordinate building access through campus; serve as on-call emergency contact.

Promote Lubin House within the SU community (leadership, faculty, staff).

Other duties as required.
