Responsibilities:

The D'Amore-McKim School of Business (DMSB) is pleased to invite applications for the Cowan Research Professor at Northeastern University. The holder of the Cowan Research Professorship is expected to strengthen and increase the visibility of the DMSB and the Accounting Group and be a thought leader within the college, university, and academic and business communities.

The candidate selected as the Cowan Research Professor will be considered for appointment to the rank of associate or full professor with tenure. He or she will be expected to enhance the school's national and international reputation through research, faculty development, and external outreach.

Qualifications:

Candidates are expected to have the following qualifications:

1. An earned doctorate;
2. An outstanding international research reputation;
3. A demonstrated record of leadership in research activities;
4. Evidence of collegiality and collaboration in working with colleagues, administrators, students, and the business community; and
5. A demonstrated record of effective teaching at various levels, which may include executive education.

Additional Information:
The Accounting Group at Northeastern is nationally recognized for its high quality accounting research focused on auditing, corporate governance, tax, and managerial topics, using experimental and archival methods. We provide a supportive environment where collaboration in research and teaching is encouraged. The Accounting Group consists of 19 tenured or tenure-track faculty and 12 full-time, non tenure-track faculty. The Group values high quality teaching and academically rigorous research with practical implications. Northeastern offers multiple undergraduate and masters programs, including three accounting-focused graduate programs (MS in Accounting, MS in Accounting/MBA, and MS In Taxation).
