Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), a unit within the Division of Student Affairs is a comprehensive center providing individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, campus outreach, program development, consultation, and an APA-accredited doctoral internship. A focus on diversity is thematic throughout all programs. The multidisciplinary center values a leadership structure that is respectful, cohesive and team-oriented.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ph.D., Psy.D., or Ed.D. in Counseling or Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program or documented completion of the degree before commencement of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide psychological services (clinical assessment, crisis intervention, brief individual psychotherapy, and group) to college students on personal/interpersonal concerns, multicultural and intersectionality concerns, developmental/educational/career concerns and the full range of mental health disorders.
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or expertise in working with a diverse student population specifically, experience with intersectionality.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide outreach and consultation to a multi-culturally diverse college student population. Licensed or license-eligible as a psychologist in the state of California. California licensure within one year of start date.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The ideal candidate will be a generalist with a demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population.
  • The ideal candidate will have completed an APA-accredited doctoral internship or an APPIC internship, and demonstrated experience in intern training and supervision.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong professional experience in one or more of the following areas: demonstrated professional interest or experience in working with Chicana/o, Latina/o, Mexican American, LatinX, African American, Asian American, Middle Eastern, or international college students through clinical interventions, outreach, and consultation; disordered eating and body image dissatisfaction; addressing the needs of first generation college students; group therapy; crisis intervention and management; use of technology & innovative therapeutic methods; and/or substance abuse treatment experience.
