Job Summary

The University of Colorado encourages applications for an Assistant/Associate Women's Golf Coach! The purpose of this position is to assist the Head Coach and take the lead in assigned day to day operations of the Women's Golf program. This position will have decision making authority when the Head Coach is not in the office.
The Assistant/Associate Coach is responsible for promoting the philosophy and objectives of the intercollegiate athletics program. This shall include adhering to the principles of the Athletic Department's Mission Statement, Diversity and Inclusion Mission Statement, Core Values, Policies and Procedures, as well as the rules and regulations of the University, the Big 12 Conference and the NCAA.
Title and responsibilities will be based on experience and qualifications.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Coaching Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the various daily decision-making processes related to the student-athletes. This position will have an integral role in the planning and execution of daily practice, in-tournament coaching, and game development of the team.
  • Develop the off-course leadership and life skills of student-athletes.
Team Management:
  • Take the lead on planning of travel itineraries, calendar management, general team operational details, and communicating these details with student-athletes.
Recruiting:
  • Serve as the recruiting coordinator for the Colorado Womens Golf program. This includes (but is not limited to) travel to tournaments, evaluation of prospects, coordination of unofficial and official visits, development of recruiting materials, and regular communication with prospects.
  • Identify and build relationships with prospects that fit the Colorado Women's Golf Program athletically, academically, and socially and who will represent the University in a positive way.
Tournament Management and Administrative Duties:
  • Assist with the hosting of the home tournament.
  • Administrative duties include (but are not limited to) compliance paperwork, social media coordination, fundraising activities, and ordering of equipment. The assistant coach will need to be flexible and willing to take on other responsibilities as assigned by the Head Coach according to team needs.




What We Can Offer

  • Salary range for the Assistant Women's Golf Coach is $65,000 - $68,000.
  • Salary range for the Associate Women's Golf Coach is $68,000 - $72,000.

  • Relocation is available within department guidelines.

What We Require

Assistant Coach:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • One year successful amateur, collegiate and/or professional tournament golf experience required. Playing experience at a competitive collegiate program or National team program may be an acceptable substitution for coaching experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
Associate Coach:
  • Bachelor's Degree. Three year experience as an assistant coach or associate head coach of a collegiate or related team. Equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.


What You Will Need

  • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of the rules of Golf.
  • Knowledge of general university policies and procedures.
  • Ability to prepare and conduct training for golf student-athletes.
  • Knowledge and interpretation of Trackman (or similar system), SAM PuttLab, golf statistics, and relevant technologies.
  • Skill in the assessment and recruitment of prospective golf student-athletes.
