(Primary Location for Job Responsibilities) Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.
Job Summary
Provides executive leadership and oversight for the University's transportation programs, mobility services, and campus transportation infrastructure across all campuses. Leads the strategic planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of integrated transportation solutions that promote sustainable mobility, enhance campus accessibility and connectivity, and reduce reliance on single-occupancy vehicles. Serves as the University's principal transportation representative, fostering collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure alignment of transportation initiatives, effective communication, and exceptional service delivery.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provides strategic leadership and long-term planning for the University's transportation programs, mobility services, and supporting infrastructure
2. Oversees the performance, service quality, risk management, and financial stewardship of university transportation services delivered through contracted providers
3. Manages the department's annual budget exceeding $6 million and leads five-year business planning initiatives
4. Oversees the safety, performance, and service quality of vendors and contractors supporting multimodal transportation programs, including transit, cycling, walking, carsharing, and bike-sharing services
5. Identifies, evaluates, and mitigates operational, safety, financial, and reputational risks across transportation services
6. Serves as the primary point of contact for transportation user experience and escalated customer concerns, ensuring timely resolution and continuous service improvement
7. Provides data-driven recommendations for transit route, schedule, and stop enhancements, as well as new transportation initiatives
8. Manages contracts and relationships with local apartment communities and external shuttle providers serving KSU students
9. Serves as the University's primary transportation liaison with local government agencies and community partners, including the Cobb Department of Transportation, Town Center Community Improvement District, and Town Center Community Alliance
10. Ensures compliance with contractual requirements, University policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
11. Directs corrective actions involving contractor personnel and documents resolutions on behalf of the University
12. Partners with University and departmental marketing team to promote sustainable transportation options, pedestrian safety, and transit awareness initiatives
13. Prepares and delivers presentations on transportation-related topics and represents Transportation on University committees, projects, and external engagements
14. Monitors emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in campus transportation and transportation demand management, incorporating insights into program and service planning
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Required Experience
Seven (7) years of progressive experience in transportation demand management, transportation planning, program management, transportation operations management, or related fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a relevant field.
Preferred Experience
Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and evaluating transportation programs and services.
Demonstrated experience managing vendor or contracted service performance and directing corrective action.
Experience in a higher education, public-sector, or multi-site operational environment. Professional certification relevant to transportation, mobility, or planning (e.g., TDM-CP, PTMP, AICP, or PTP)
Proposed Salary
The budgeted salary range is $66,800 to $75,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.

KNOWLEDGE
Thorough knowledge of transportation demand management principles, practices, and emerging trends in higher education and urban environments.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local transportation regulations, grant programs, and funding mechanisms relevant to campus transportation.
Knowledge of multimodal transportation planning, including bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, public transit, and shared mobility programs.
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
