The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of neuronal and iPSC cell culture, molecular biology, chromatin biology, genomics, and imaging studies. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include investigation of the regulation and functions of nuclear speckles and chromatin organization during neuronal stimulation, using a wide range of approaches including molecular biology, cell biology, genomics approaches, and imaging studies.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop and prepare manuscripts and grants, present research findings in a national meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
