Position Announcement

The Department of Information Systems and Technology (www.uvu.edu/ist) invites applications for two one-year, full-time non-tenure-track lecturer faculty positions to begin August 2026. These positions are one-year placeholders for tenure-track positions in the area of Cybersecurity.

Cybersecurity faculty plan, prepare, and teach undergraduate courses in the following areas: security fundamentals, digital forensics, penetration testing, incident handling, compliance and auditing, computer networking, systems administration, and scripting.

The Information Systems and Technology Department offers ABET-accredited programs in Information Systems and Information Technology. The Cybersecurity program is currently preparing for its initial ABET review. The department also offers academic programs in Business Technologies & Education and Data Analytics.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Instructs, manages, and supervises individuals and groups in classrooms, online, and laboratories, through demonstration, discussion, visual aids, individualized instruction, lectures, and other appropriate methods for educational delivery.
  • Plans, prepares, and follows an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught. Prepares instructional materials. Evaluates student performance using appropriate testing and grading procedures.
  • Serves the department by attending departmental meetings and serving on department committees related to their area of expertise and teaching.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a master's degree in cybersecurity, information technology, information systems, computer science, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications
Previous teaching experience or related industry experience. Industry-recognized certifications in computer security areas (e.g. ISC2, Hack-the-box, AWS, Microsoft, etc.).
