Job Summary


This curriculum development position will help Ecology and Evolutionary Biology's (EBIO) teaching faculty develop materials for large General Biology courses. The position will focus on creating engaging, research-informed instructional materials that connect biological concepts to real-world scientific research and interdisciplinary applications. It is a limited, 75% appointment from June 1 - June 30.

EBIO's disciplinary strengths include ecology, evolution, genetics, behavior, biology education research and systematics. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  • Creating "Scientist Spotlights" featuring researchers from EBIO, MCDB, IPHY, & PSYC and their work, and aligning it with our content learning objectives.
  • Improving plant biology slides for EBIO 1210 to include herbarium specimens & their value.
  • Creating relevant climate change-focused activities & slides for EBIO 1220 based on recent research.
  • Building materials (slides & in-class activities) that highlight the interdisciplinary nature of science, including the power of large data sets.

What We Require

  • PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology (completed).
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience.


What You Will Need

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with faculty and instructional teams.
  • Ability to read and synthesize primary scientific literature.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Interest in biology education, science communication, or curriculum development.
