Position Description
This is a temporary, seasonal position within the Residence Hall Maintenance department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Move furniture and assist with resetting rooms as needed.
- Perform interior painting, including surface preparation and touch-up work.
- Repair and maintain walls, including patching holes and minor surface repairs.
- Assist with basic building maintenance tasks, including repairs to toilets, showers, and other facility components.
- Use hand tools and basic power tools safely and effectively.
- Work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Demonstrate reliability by reporting to work on time and completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate communication and reporting related to assigned work tasks.
Qualifications
- Ability to work the required hours and schedule, including varying days as needed.
- Ability to understand instructions in English and follow direction accurately.
- Willingness to work across all assigned buildings and job sites.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds as required.
- Experience with painting, minor repairs, and general maintenance work.
- Familiarity and experience using hand tools and basic power tools.
- Must successfully pass a background check as a condition of employment.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $25.00 per hour
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
