TEC 612 - Reading and Language Arts in the Intermediate Grades

Full Job Description:

This course focuses on theoretical principles and pedagogical strategies necessary for developing and maintaining a balanced comprehensive literacy program that addresses the full range of learners in grades 4-8 and includes reading, writing, listening, speaking and critical literacy. The structures, methods and expectations for a rigorous reading and writing workshop will be covered. Candidates will learn to design small group and whole-class teaching grounded in assessment and based on students' assets and needs.
