Job Description:
The Stewardship Reporting team manages and executes a program dedicated to providing standardized reporting functions at scale and with a level of personalization that enhances the experience of Brown's donors. Using a blend of technology, design, creative skills, and business process management, the team delivers data-driven reporting, as well as curated narratives. These functions are the core of Brown's efforts to document, celebrate, and communicate the impact of giving to Brown.
The Stewardship Reporting Officer is responsible for producing reports that inform donors about the impact of their giving in clear, specific, and meaningful ways. Each Officer partners with a portfolio of key campus stakeholders to collect and curate content for standardized donor reporting. As the primary points of contact for this information, they also serve as partners for Advancement colleagues seeking to report on the impact of giving by specific donors. As a member of an innovative and collaborative team, the Officer is constantly seeking new ways to leverage tools and technology to make their work more efficient, scalable, sustainable, and most importantly, personally meaningful to donors.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a related field such as project coordination, digital marketing, fundraising, nonprofit, or communications.
Job Competencies
- Strong knowledge of the Windows & Google environments, including, but not limited to, calendar management/project management tools, and web-based platforms, and the ability to adapt to new technologies and platforms.
- Demonstrated excellent written, oral communication, and proofreading skills, as well as demonstrated success in data management. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Must have a proven record of being a self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and priorities to meet challenging timelines and challenging deadlines, while always keeping an eye toward the larger goals of all programs and services, along with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining the highest standards.
- Experience supporting project workflows and meeting established milestones.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills with a track record of working with multiple stakeholders. Ability to handle confidential information with complete discretion.
- Ability to comply with University graphic standards and communication style guides.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities. Creativity, motivation, and problem-solving ability.
- Execution: Drives the development and management of tasks, timelines, and workflows to completion; astute attention to detail in all work products.
- Decision making: Makes timely, impactful decisions based on facts, circumstances, and needs.
- Communication: Effectively conveys information to stakeholders in a timely fashion.
- Diplomacy: Maintains confidence while communicating tactfully.
- Data Management: Collects, enters, and maintains data accurately with output and usage in mind.
- Initiative: Take responsibility for progress and outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in data reporting and/or digital marketing.
- Ability to design and execute complex mail merge operations
- Experience in a university setting or non-profit setting is highly desirable.
- Experience working closely with frontline fundraisers.
- CRM knowledge (Blackbaud) preferred, but not required. Adobe preferred but not required.
