Laborer Grounds

Job Summary

Grounds Laborer at Sunnyside Apartments. Assists full-time Landscape Gardeners with grounds duties.  Assist with planting, weeding, mulching, deadheading, pruning, digging, raking, watering, trash removal, and sweeping.  The applicant must commit to a position that is physically demanding and involves working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.

Responsibilities
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Picking up leaves and debris.
- Weeding
- Watering Plants
- Mulching
- Snow removal
- Assisting with tree and shrub pruning projects.
- Lawn care (mowing, edging, trimming etc.).
- Picking up litter
- Assisting full-time gardeners with other grounds duties.
- Other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
Requires little to no related experience.

Preferences
Experience or interest in horticulture or related field.

Able to work at least 19-30 hours per week. May not exceed 1560 hours per year, May 1st through April 30th.

Work Schedule Summary: Monday-Friday within the hours of 6:30am-3:00pm. 19-30 hours per week. May not exceed 1560 hours per year May 1st through April 30th. Work hours will be scheduled in 4-8 hour blocks of time. Possible weekend and holiday on call shifts for snow removal.
