DESCRIPTION
Mendocino-Lake Community College District is currently accepting applications for a full-time Custodial Supervisor.
This is a full-time, 40-hour per week, 12 month per year Classified Administrator position.

Under general direction of the department manager, this working supervisor position organizes, coordinates and supervises the work of custodial staff during an assigned shift and performs related work. The custodial staff is primarily a "night crew" and this position will work the same shift hours as the crew: 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.

SALARY AND COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The starting salary range is $70,654 - $74,186 annually. There are six annual step movements; initial placement will be at step 1, unless approved by the Superintendent/President.

Benefits: With no monthly premium contribution from the employee, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes family medical, dental, vision, EAP benefits and employee life insurance. Additional voluntary life insurance is available for employee purchase. Benefits are effective the first of the month following hire date.
Holidays and Paid Time Off: The successful candidate will earn twenty-one (21) days of vacation and twelve (12) days of sick leave per year. Vacation leave increases with the length of service. There are twenty one (21) paid holidays annually.
Retirement: This position is eligible for CalPERS OR CalSTRS Retirement.
REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
The successful candidate will support institutional and student success with the completion of the following duties:
- Works with the department manager to plan, coordinate and monitor all custodial activities, standards and requirements.
- Supervises all custodial staff for the main campus, North County Center and Lake Center, including probationary, permanent, short-term hourly, and student workers; responsible for hiring, training; evaluating and coordinating any disciplinary matters.
- Schedules assignments and shifts for custodial staff; explains expectations, procedures, rules, regulations; monitors cleanliness standards of facilities and grounds.
- Prepares reports, including any repairs which are needed; maintains hazardous materials, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and other records.
- Performs custodial work as part of regular duties.
- Develops specifications for and supervises contracted custodial activities.
- Works with the department manager on projects which require the combined maintenance staff.
- Assists with the development of the custodial budget; inventories and stocks custodial supplies; works with department staff to purchase and distribute custodial supplies and equipment.
- Serves as a department contact person while on duty.
- May respond to emergency maintenance, facility, and grounds calls as contacted during off-duty hours.
- Attends meetings, serves on committees, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Indoor and outdoor environment; subject to adverse weather conditions; typically works evenings; drives college vehicles; exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals and solutions.
Physical demands include reaching, bending, walking, standing for long periods, pushing and light to moderate lifting. May be required to do heavy lifting (up to 75 pounds).
QUALIFICATIONS
Must meet Human Resources guidelines for qualified hiring; including by not limited to a Live Scan background check and completion of TB test.
Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California driver's license.
