Position Announcement

Join Utah Valley University in a role that supports meaningful improvement in early childhood education across the community. In this position, you will use Environmental Rating Scale (ERS) tools to assess early learning environments and help programs strengthen the quality of care they provide. Working directly with child care professionals, you will mentor and coach providers, coordinate quality improvement efforts, and help integrate nationally recognized best practices as defined by the Utah State Office of Child Care. Your work will contribute to stronger learning environments for young children while supporting educators in building sustainable, high-quality programs.

This role also offers opportunities to contribute to the broader early childhood field by developing technical assistance resources and, at times, serving as a trainer for Care About Childcare (CAC) coursework. With a focus on collaboration, professional growth, and measurable impact, this position allows you to guide providers through meaningful improvements while maintaining high standards of reliability with ERS observation tools. If you are passionate about supporting educators and strengthening early childhood programs, this position offers the chance to make a lasting difference in the quality of care and education available to families.

Participates in meetings, community events, and professional partner conferences as needed. Completes tasks, trainings, and office-related duties assigned by OCC, CCRA, or UVU leadership.
  • Instruction and Training Delivery: Completes and maintains all requirements to be an approved instructor through OCC. Teaches career ladder courses and ERS-related courses as needed. Presents at early childhood conferences and professional development events.
