Senior Professionals are responsible for exercising discretion, analytical skill, personal accountability and responsibility in a wide range of areas including academic, administrative, managerial and student services functions. Work involves creating, integrating, applying and sharing knowledge directly related to a professional field. Work is performed fully independently.
Reporting to Curriculum Manager, this position will facilitate placement of students with preceptors, assist with preceptor development and serve as the Rural Longitudinal Integrated Curriculum (LIC) Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities:
Placement Coordination -
- Collect student requests and contact preceptors/sites to arrange clinical practice sites for every block. This involves complex scheduling and balancing student preferences with preceptor availability.
- Work with UME Coordinators to ensure sites and students receive necessary paperwork and students complete required credentialing. Requires strong understanding of clinical site requirements.
- Ensure that new clinical sites/teachers are appropriately onboarded and familiar with the requirements of the rotation.
- Maintain communication with preceptors and site staff.
- Maintain system for tracking when preceptors teach students. Maintain database of current, past, and prospective preceptors and site information.
- Oversee collection of clinical faculty evaluations and work with Clerkship Support Coordinator to prepare for grading meetings.
- Regularly review the preceptor and site evaluations to maintain high quality teachers and sites and collect additional evaluation comments when necessary.
Preceptor Development
- Participate in recruitment and retention of preceptors.
- Develop working and professional relationships with preceptors, clinics, and hospitals in order to maintain and foster preceptor recruitment, development, and retention.
- Create materials for preceptor recruitment, overview of teaching benefits (e.g. library access, CMEs, tax credit), faculty appointment process, teaching responsibilities, teaching tips, etc.
- Assist with planning preceptor development workshops/conferences and preceptor recognition events.
Rural LIC Program Coordination
- Assists the Rural LIC Director with all aspects of managing the student experience. Identifies problems, develops solutions for the problems, and presents problems and solutions to LIC director.
- Facilitates complex student and faculty scheduling for clinical experiences requiring monthly coordination and distribution of schedules and continuous updates and communication with faculty and students as conflicts and changes arise.
- Assists the Rural LIC director and other faculty in planning the year-long schedules of students' ambulatory clinical placements, inpatient immersions, on-call experiences, didactics, and assessments.
- Coordinates didactic schedules including scheduling speakers, logistics, and collection and compilation of student evaluations from didactics sessions, and coordinate with the LIC coordinators from UCH, VA, and CHCO to achieve the above for shared didactic content and speakers.
- Manage Rural LIC Canvas website including updating course materials and coordination of online quizzes, modules, and exams. Creates grading forms for each course. Schedules and proctors exams. Provides support to Rural LIC director and department liaisons. Enters and manages student data in various tracking systems.
- Coordinates distribution of student assessments throughout the year, assisting students and faculty with use of online evaluation system and track completion of required evaluations. Coordinates end of final year grading meeting, including uploading final grades and comments. Coordinates regular student meetings with LIC faculty including creation of reports summarizing student performance in all clinical realms throughout the year.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of related professional experience

- A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with recruiting and retaining faculty preceptors, including resolving student/faculty issues, scheduling conflicts and other logistical issues.
- Experience creating and managing databases, spreadsheets and other tracking systems to improve data management and track progress towards goals.
- Experience managing courses in Canvas.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and to track and maintain deadlines with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn new skills, synthesize and apply knowledge from diverse disciplines and analyze, develop and implement improvements to work processes.

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,961 - $67,367.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
