The University of Colorado Denver (CU Denver) Business School invites applications for a non-tenure track faculty position in management at the level of Instructor in Management.

The position will entail teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, depending on department needs, with a focus on teaching strategic management. The start date of the position is August 2026.

Recognized for its educational excellence, the Business School brings together a world-class faculty, exceptional students, and prominent members of the business community. With classes offered during the day, in the evening, and online, the Business School is the largest graduate school of business in the region and the first choice of business professionals. In addition, the undergraduate business program offers both traditional and cutting-edge majors and is undergoing a period of significant growth.

Instructor of Management
What you will do:
We seek candidates with a strong commitment to teaching. A successful candidate at the Instructor level can expect a 70% teaching work distribution (7 courses annually), with the remaining 20% - 30% of the contract distributed between service and research/professional responsibilities. The specifics of the 20% - 30% of the contract beyond teaching responsibilities may be negotiable. Teaching a minimum of 7 courses annually is an expectation of the position.

Teaching undergraduate strategic management courses will comprise the majority of the teaching requirements for this position. Teaching assignments will include various modalities, including online, in-person, and/or hybrid, depending on department needs. The successful candidate is expected to reside in the Denver metro area.

Qualifications you already possess (Minimum Qualifications)
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Graduate level degree from a business school (e.g., MBA, MS, PhD) or closely related school/program
  • Previous teaching experience in a business school, in a full-time or part-time role.

Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Industry experience in a management role
  • Previous online and/or hybrid teaching experience
  • Candidates showing the potential for teaching effectiveness, demonstrated by indicators such as past teaching/course evaluations, experience with curriculum development, and/or pedagogical training

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $ 85,000-$95,000.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
