The Office of Undergraduate Student Services at the Leeds School of Business is encouraging applications for a Professional Academic Advisor! We are committed to supporting the education of the whole student and integrating student life with learning. In the process of generating and disseminating academic information and personalized requirements, we share knowledge through policies, practices, and programs for current and prospective students and their families, faculty, and other student affairs and academic affairs professionals on campus. This includes personal, group, and electronic interactions that enhance academic success, promote personal and professional development, and foster a sense of community. The Advisor serves as a key liaison for our current and prospective students.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Academic Advising
Advise undergraduate students regarding academic requirements and options for completing these requirements. Maintain and integrate knowledge of constantly evolving curricula, university rules and policies, and how to apply to different circumstances. Additionally, remain current on resources available and best practice advising standards and protocol. Advising may be done in person, via Zoom, on the phone, or by email. The employee integrates a student-focused developmental approach to advising, and has an understanding of how career goals and opportunities impact academic decisions.
Record Keeping
Maintain student records to reflect current academic standing with regard to undergraduate degree requirements. Priority is placed on being aware of constantly evolving curriculum requirements and applying changes to student records for accuracy in record keeping. This responsibility also includes evaluation of transfer credit, updating degree audit, and managing probation/suspension records, senior audits and graduation processing for students in assigned caseload.
Teaching
Teach BADM 1250- First Year Seminar class, offered in the fall semester. Time spent on this course will include preparation, teaching, grading and office hours.
Project Support
Every position in the Undergraduate office will be called upon to help with various tasks such as orientation, graduation confirmation, commencement ceremony, probation and suspension, advising non-business students, preparing and presenting oral presentations, training new employees, and acting as an outreach resource to the rest of the campus or community.
What You Should Know
The work schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, approximately 8am-5pm. This position offers a hybrid work modality with 3 days in office and 2 days remote per week. Evening or weekend work will be required a few times per semester.
What We Can Offer
- The annual hiring range for this position is $54,060-$55,000. Relocation is available for eligible candidates.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and professional experience in a student-facing role
