Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Support Learning Technologies Manager and staff by serving as first point of contact for the department. Functions include managing workflow process for Blackboard support requests, tracking online offerings, coordinating financial and purchasing transactions for department, maintaining department budget documentation, tracking software licenses, and managing inventory of department equipment and supplies.

  • Serve as first point of contact for the Learning Technology Office - Including responding to inquiries in person, phone, and email.
  • Support the Learning Technologies Manager and the Learning Technology Team.
  • Provide level 1 support on common issues such as uploading syllabi, editing content, adding content to the course, copying course content, and importing/exporting courses. Escalate more complex questions to appropriate Learning Technologies team member.
  • Utilize technology to manage and track requests for support, analyzing data as needed to support department initiatives.
  • Serve as liaison to divisions for changes to online schedule. Track new and deleted offerings.
  • Maintain database of degrees and certificates offered fully online and the associated courses available in that format.

  • Maintain accurate records and assist with documentation for accreditation.
  • Maintain list of all online classes at COD in programs that lead to potential licensure, and the requirements for licensure in each state that enrolled distance education students reside. Ensure COD is compliant with the US Department of Education's rules on state authorization for distance education.
  • Serve as the department expert on COD policies and procedures as they relate to financial and purchasing transactions to ensure compliance.
  • Track and monitor all financial transactions for Learning Technologies against the department budget. Manage orders and process payment for all office supplies and equipment purchases.
  • Manage grant-funded Learning Technologies purchases, initiatives, and licenses.
  • Serve as liaison to software vendors on behalf of the department, monitoring and communicating changes in price and features.
  • Manage inventory of department equipment that is available for faculty check-out, ensuring equipment is returned promptly at the end of the check-out period.
  • Serve as department liaison to the Employee Development Center, Office of Adjunct Faculty Support, and Library for collaborative initiatives between departments.
  • Participate in department meetings and represent Learning Technologies staff on college-wide committees.
  • Collect and compile report information requests for College auditors, Division Deans, Institutional Effectiveness, Manager and Learning Technologies staff.
  • Manage or contribute to special projects as requested by the Manager, Learning Technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Experience
      • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel required.
      • Experience providing basic support in computer applications and processes via phone, email and in person.
      • Customer Service experience required.
      • In addition to above, experience working in a support role in an educational setting preferred.
      • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and track completion of processes preferred.
      • Experience providing Blackboard support and managing process flows preferred.

  • Must be a self-starter with good problem-solving skills and the ability to work with diverse personalities.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills and initiative to follow-up.

  • Must be flexible, adaptable and able to work with frequent interruptions.
  • Must be willing to stay late occasionally or come in early as needed to support the team.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.


  • Hiring Range:
    Starting pay begins at $21.70/hr. based on experience.

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
