Position Description

This position is a temporary role expected to conclude on or around December 5, 2025.

The Temporary Program Coordinator is a short-term role that supports the missions and values of the MOSAIC Center in coordinating efforts to build and maintain a diverse, inclusive, and equitable campus environment.

The Temporary Program Coordinator works with members of the university community in a social justice framework to promote the leadership formation, wellness, and success of students from historically underrepresented backgrounds, which includes but is not limited to students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, undocumented students, commuter students, transfer students, and graduate and adult learners. The Temporary Program Coordinator works with the center staff to implement programs and assess progress toward meeting annual goals.

Essential Responsibilities

Student Leadership Support & Programming (50%)

  • Supervise student staff (community ambassadors) responsible for community building and programming within the Intercultural Link and Pride Link
  • Evaluate, create, update, and share resources to support the persistence and retention of BIPOC students, undocumented students, and LGBTQIA+ students
  • Co-supervise student staff (hub desk assistants) responsible for providing a welcoming and inclusive service experience as the university's front desk
  • Contribute meaningfully to the development of a sustainable and scaffolded leadership development plan for our student leadership positions
  • Collaborate with campus and community partners to strengthen program development and engagement

Space Management & Coordination (30%)
  • Manage the operations of 4 student spaces including student staff scheduling, meeting reservations, managing supplies and (re)stocking inventory, and general upkeep of spaces Hold primary responsibility for maintaining an inviting environment in all lounge and link spaces, which includes overseeing the cleanliness and usability of each space.

Administrative Tasks & Other Duties (20%)
  • Collaborate with OMA Staff to create biweekly OMA newsletter
  • Support OMA Director with budget related tasks
  • Support front desk operations

Anticipated Work Schedule

This is a temporary position, 37.5 hour/week position. Typical work hours occur between 8am and 5pm, with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two years full-time work experience in a college or university environment with responsibility for program coordination and advising OR an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job such as those listed above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to social justice issues.
  • Show success in mentoring students.
  • Demonstrate significant engagement with their own social identities.
  • Possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have an appreciation and understanding of student development within the context of a Catholic, Jesuit, and comprehensive university.
  • Openness and willingness to fully engage with and be challenged by the personal growth of working within a social justice framework.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with social networking and graphic design tools (ex. Instagram, Later.com, Tik Tok, Discord, Canva).
  • Familiarity with project management tools
  • Prior experience with group facilitation and leadership.

Compensation at a Glance

Salary Range: $29.00 per hour.

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
