The Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences (ISDS) at California State University, Fullerton, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Information Systems with an appointment to begin in the fall of 2026.

Position
Ideal candidates for this position should have the ability to teach a variety of upper-division undergraduate and graduate courses related to information systems (IS) successfully. Depending on the candidate's capabilities and the needs of the Department, such courses may include artificial intelligence / machine learning for business, blockchain technologies, databases and business intelligence, data analysis, process analysis and mining, telecommunications and networks, enterprise systems, information security, IS management, IT project management, programming concepts, systems analysis and design, etc. Current ISDS faculty are active researchers in a variety of areas relating to information systems, data science, and operations management, and candidates must therefore have a clear research agenda with the potential for high-quality scholarly publications. The successful candidate will be expected to conduct high-quality research and build a strong record of scholarly work, which is essential for positive tenure and promotion decisions. The successful candidate will also be expected to advise students, serve on committees, contribute to and participate in the life and development of the Department, and participate in the broader University and disciplinary communities.

The ISDS Department consists of a large, diverse, and supportive group of faculty who have expertise and interests in a vast array of information systems-related and data science-related technologies and phenomena. At the undergraduate level, the Department offers concentrations in Business Analytics, Information Systems, and Decision Sciences, as well as joint concentrations in both Marketing and Information Systems and Accounting and Information Systems. At the graduate level, the Department offers a Master of Science in Information Systems program with concentrations in either Business Analytics or Information Systems Management, as well as a fully online and nationally ranked Master of Science in Information Technology program with concentrations in either Data Science or IT Management. ISDS faculty members are active researchers with publications in top tier IS journals such as Management Information Systems Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Management Information Systems, Journal of the Association for Information Systems, and Information Systems Journal, among others. ISDS faculty are also very active in the College's MBA programs, including supporting MBA concentrations in Information Systems and Business Analytics.
Compensation
The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $5,405 to $11,994 monthly (12 monthly payments per academic year). The anticipated hiring range is $10,181 to $10,380 per month.
Salary offered is commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, the California Equal Pay Act prohibits employers from paying its employees less than those of the opposite sex and/or another race or ethnicity for substantially similar work (https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/california_equal_pay_act.htm).
Summer research grants, paid summer teaching, funds to cover moving expenses, startup funds, reduced teaching loads, travel support, and support for professional development activities may also be available.
