Position Announcement


Utah Valley University is seeking dedicated and student-focused educators to join the Department of Philosophy & Humanities as full-time faculty, teaching general education courses such as Humanities through the Arts. Faculty at UVU play a vital role in delivering high impact, engaging instruction to a diverse student population while contributing to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. With a 5/5 teaching load, this position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students' general education experience through thoughtfully developed curriculum, inclusive teaching practices, and personalized academic support.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Design, prepare, and teach courses and deliver content using meaningful and engaging methods with measurable course objectives.
  • Teach, manage, and supervise individuals and groups in a classroom setting via demonstrations, discussion, experiential learning activities, and visual aids.
  • Provide evaluation of learning through written and performance tests.
  • Hold regular office hours and maintain a student-oriented approach to education.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from a regionally accredited institution with a doctorate degree in a related field to the coursework being taught or master's degree plus two years of experience in a related discipline. Demonstrated successful teaching at the college or university level is required.

  • Knowledge of the principles and methodology of teaching techniques, and expertise in subject area.
