Salary Range: $94,000 - $99,500 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications. This position is Exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary
The Nurse Family Partnership (NFP) Nurse Supervisor works within the local community and lead agency structure to assure that the NFP Program is implemented in accordance with established guidelines and contract requirements. The NFP Nurse Supervisor will serve in a leadership role providing primary support and oversight to the nurse home visitors and NFP staff while fostering innovation in providing a strengths-based, client-centered culture in a university site for the program. The NFP Nurse Supervisor reports directly to the UCCS site administrator for NFP and works collaboratively with state leaders for NFP to ensure all model elements are being met. The workload for the NFP Nurse Supervisor is 95% service as the supervisor with a case load assignment of up to 5 client families and 5% teaching as instructor - clinical practice.
Essential Functions
The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Staffing and Education- Manages the recruitment and hiring of all nurse home visitors (NHV) and administrative data support staff.
- Ensures that all staff, including supervisor, attend all required NFP education sessions.
- Provides adequate orientation, professional development opportunities for nurse home visitors and support staff.
- Assigns client caseloads and monitors nurse home visitors' ability to build and manage caseload.
- Provides reflective supervision and evaluation of nurse home visitors and administrative data support staff as outlined in the NFP model elements.
- Completes joint visits with the NHVs and Mastery Assessment and Plans as outlined in the NFP model elements.
- Coordinates with Nurse Supervisors of other NFP sites to provide continuing education and team-building opportunities for all nurse home visitors.
- Collects, maintains, and updates goals of clinical student experiences; assures input from staff, lead faculty and student evaluations when making changes to any goal or procedure.
- Teaches BSN students in collaboration with the NHVs and lead faculty.
- Supervises one RN to BSN student placement per semester in collaboration with the lead faculty for the public health nursing course for an NFP team project.
- Plans annual simulation experiences for the NFP nurses/staff.
Budget and Contracts
- Participates in the preparation and monitoring of the NFP budget to ensure appropriate use of funds.
- Plans expenditures to ensure compliance with fidelity to NFP model and contract agreements.
- Plans and expends budget to ensure compliance with UCCS processes.
- Submits monthly reports on spending within the UCCS/Concur system.
- Tracks all line-item expenditures within the FY Budget and works with the Grants/Budget representative to ensure accurate accounting and troubleshooting.
- Participates in monitoring NFP contract with the agency.
- Monitors local, state, and national issues that may affect sustainability of program.
- Works with the Lane Center clinic office manager to plan, document, certify, and bill Medicaid based on information and instructions from IIK and HCPF.
- Community awareness, support and referrals, and referral systems
- Actively participates in all NFP community coalition/advisory board meetings.
- Develops and maintains community referral sources and implements effective referral processes.
- Utilizes agency policies and procedures or develops needed policy and procedure to guide implementation.
- Ensures that NFP staff have infrastructure of space, computers, furniture, phones, etc.
- Develops and maintains appropriate materials for the community and client.
- Actively works with community referral sources to streamline or improve referral processes.
- Works directly with programs that have an active Memo of Understanding regarding NFP.
- Oversees the data coordinator role and input of community referrals, maintenance of all data platforms, and plans for improvement of coordination between the two county sites.
- Collaborate with the marketing committee and NHVs who present to outside referrals sources.
- Quality Improvement and Evaluation
- Oversees and ensures timely and accurate data input and utilization of the web-based reports and other reports available through NFP.
- Utilizes NFP quality and fidelity reports to plan quality improvement strategies.
- Ensures implementation of quality improvement strategies.
- Develops methods for ongoing assessment of staff development needs.
- Evaluates implementing agency outcomes and interventions.
- Works proactively with the IIK NFP nurse consultant to support NHVs, improve outcomes, and/or change processes as needed.
- Writes the IIK/Colorado Progress Report yearly and as indicated by funders.
- Create and Maintain NFP Culture
- Maintain relationships based on trust, support and growth with team colleagues and community members.
- Ensures a focus on a strengths-based model of nursing.
- Develops NFP site specific procedure manual and updates as needed.
- Ensures that NFP nurse home visitors utilize principles and concepts of motivational interviewing, coaching and reflective practice.
- Develops and implements regular reflective practice supervision within the program and conduct field visits.
- Provides regular case conferences and team meetings as recommended by NFP.
- Effectively assists nurse home visitors in analyzing complex problems and case situations.
- Provides NFP coaching/mentoring for NHVs with problematic/complex cases.
- Coordinates services with the Mental Health Consultant to attend case conferences and provide individual NHV support as necessary.
- Supports and educates staff on professional boundaries and therapeutic relationships as needed.
- Clinical Responsibilities
- Carries a caseload of up to 5 clients.
- Maintains current BLS certification.
This position is dependent on the availability of auxiliary revenues and external gift funding. Funding is currently expected to last one year, though funding has been renewed every year that it has been requested.

Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with an active, unencumbered Colorado nursing license (or ability to obtain by date of hire) is required.
- Master's Degree in Nursing from a nationally accredited program is required.
- Work experience in maternal child with diverse populations, communities, and organizations is required.
- NFP or other evidenced-based home visiting model experience as an NHV or Supervisor is required.
- Experience in a supervisory role that involved staff hiring, review and evaluation is required.
- Experience in review of program data and analysis in preparation for writing reports that reflect strategic planning is required.
- Experience with creating and monitoring budgets is preferred.
- Experience with a variety of databases is preferred.
