In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.
Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $75,000.00 Annually
Maximum $81,000.00 Annually
Job Summary
The Associate Director for Student Affairs provides direction, leadership and oversight of the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Office of Student Affairs. Position incumbent is expected to engage with and monitor all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Student Affairs and ensure continual quality improvement of services. This role additionally provides primary leadership for the COMLEX scheduling process for new and repeat test takers.

- Must be a self-assured, experienced leader who is able to anticipate potential problems and initiate solutions in concert with the Associate Dean of Student Affairs, COMP.
- Ability to effectively manage budgets and meet budget expectations, compose non-routine correspondence on own initiative, and coordinate, prioritize and lead projects and meetings.
- Ability to manage a crisis and calm upset individuals and be able to handle sensitive conversations such as suicidal ideation, death in the family, alcoholism, drug abuse etc.
- Must be detail oriented, with strong organizational skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible in job assignments and work hours.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Committed to working in an organization that values and promotes humanism.
- Ability to interrelate appropriately with administration, faculty, staff, students and external affiliates.
- Must be able to effectively delegate/assign tasks as well as monitor and evaluate both performance and outcomes using a continued quality improvement process for programs and services.
- Must be able to prioritize and schedule opportunity to resolve problems.
- Excellent computer skills necessary to utilize Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Planner, and Qualtrics, and the ability to seek out and adapt to new technologies relevant to the position.
- Skill with scanner, copier, printer, telephone operation, and the ability to type at 55+ words per minute.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent training or experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the position.
- Experience: Five or more years of Student Affairs experience at a large institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Masters degree in education
