Location

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Job Summary

Design curriculum and assessment tools for the SANE training program. Develop and provide didactic and clinical instruction to RNs in the SANE training program. Teach/assist clinical director in teaching SANE curriculum. Develop and implement an output instrument to evaluate program effectiveness. Assist clinical director in coordinating the didactic and clinical training schedule. Work in a clinical and non-clinical capacity to assist student/employee victims of crime with clinical and forensic medical evaluation needs associated with their victimization.

This position is considered limited-term staff since it utilizes contingent funding which is currently only secured through September 30, 2026. Employment thereafter will be conditional based on continued availability of funding.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in SANE training/program policy and development, implementation, training, and ongoing compliance monitoring.
2. Performs as the charge nurse to facilitate patient flow and coordination of services per practitioner's level of training to meet the comprehensive quality patient centered healthcare.
3. Collaborates with KSU nursing faculty and community partners to provide trauma informed, patient centered care to patients.
4. Understands all agency services and represent the agency well in all forums.
5. Assists and makes recommendations in program design, curriculum development, and implementation of services.
6. Works with management team to improve quality assurance systems.
7. Provides direct clinical and non-clinical service as needed or requested.
8. Participates in collaborative meetings e.g., MDT, SART.
9. Abides by confidentiality required by KSU, USG (University System of Georgia), federal and state law.
10. Maintains patient files, agency files, statistics, forms, and other record keeping as required.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in nursing.

Other Required Qualifications
Current, valid, and unrestricted Georgia nursing license.
Board certification in sexual assault (SANE-A or SANE-P) required within one (1) year of hire.

Required Experience
Two (2) years of field work in nursing, support or related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in nursing, public health, or related field.

Preferred Experience
Experience coordinating multidisciplinary sexual assault/intimate partner/stalking teams, meetings, and trainings.
Active participation in continuing education and research relevant to caring for sexual assault patient populations.
Experience or training in Title IX and Clery Act compliance.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

ABILITIES
Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines.
Organized and able to meet and manage scheduling demands.

KNOWLEDGE
Demonstrates knowledge of the psychological and emotional forces affecting survivors of sexual assault and their significant other, family and/or friends.
Thorough understanding sexual assault, trauma, domestic violence, dating violence, and related issues.
Thorough understanding and knowledge of various communities, underserved populations, equitable practices, and accessibility
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to victims of crime and evidence.

SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills.
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite).
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
