Position Description
Position Summary
The Clinical Performance Lab (CPL) Operations Coordinator works directly with the Director of Simulation and Innovation to support the mission, vision, and curriculum of the Seattle University (SU) College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This individual will assist in the coordination and day-to-day operation of the CPL. This role oversees space scheduling, equipment flow, supply systems, and student worker staffing to ensure seamless delivery of high-fidelity, hands-on simulation experiences. They collaborate daily with simulation faculty, technicians, and campus partners in IT, facilities, and administration.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Coordination (40%)
- Coordinate daily CPL operations in collaboration with the Director of Simulation and Innovation, Simulation
- Administrative Coordinator, and student workers.
- Oversee the scheduling and use of the lab by students, faculty, and external groups.
- Coordinate deliveries, vendor services, equipment maintenance, warranties, and service contracts.
- Collaborate with SU Facilities and Sabey (James Tower) on building-related maintenance (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and common space issues.
- Maintain and implement inventory control systems; ensure proper care, use, and security of equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with Director of Simulation and Innovation to implement ongoing systems improvement and integration in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Budget & Resource Management (25%)
- Coordinate procurement, inventory, and budgeting in collaboration with the College Director of Budget and Operations and SU IT.
- Coordinate contractors (e.g., standardized patients) scheduling, expense tracking, expense forecasting, payments, and HR related requirements.
- Track supply usage and assist with procurement planning, expense tracking, and forecasting.
In collaboration with the Simulation Technolgy Program Manager, manage resources, including financial and physical resources, to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Team Leadership & Development (10%)
- In collaboration with the Director of Simulation and Innovation Supervise, train and schedule student workers; collaborate with the Simulation Administrative Coordinator to assign tasks related to lab maintenance, inventory, and supporting faculty and students.
- Foster a positive work environment and ensure effective communication among team members.
- Promote the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice (HCSSOBP), and the Association for Standardized Patient
- Educators (ASPE) best practices.
Strategic Planning & Innovation (10%)
- Collaborate with the Director of Simulation and Innovation for strategic planning for the Clinical Performance Lab (CPL), including setting goals and strategies.
- Manage any process or policy changes for performance improvement.
- Track performance metrics to assess progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
Stakeholder Communication & Collaboration (10%)
- Attend the CPL Advisory Committee and other assigned committees.
- Collaborate with the Simulation Team and faculty on curriculum standardization and integration of the Healthcare
- Simulation Standards of Best Practice.
Compliance, Safety, and Reporting (5%)
- Promote workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Conduct orientations on lab equipment and safety protocols for faculty, staff, and students.
- Assist with preparation of reports, protocols, and informational materials.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree with two or more years of previous administrative/operations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Teams and SharePoint.
- Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced academic or healthcare environment.
- Strong organizational and people skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in nursing, business administration, education, health sciences, or other related fields from a regionally accredited institution is preferred.
- Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and services, including procurement, budgeting and inventory control.
- CHSOS (Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist) or equivalent certification.

Compensation at a Glance
Salary Range: $52,000 - $54,000
Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.
