Position Announcement

Lecturer, U.S. History. The Department of History and Political Science at Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year lectureship in U.S. History beginning 20 August 2025. Teaching load is 5/5. Ph.D. in U.S. History preferred but candidates with a master's degree and some doctoral work (preferably ABD) will be considered. The successful candidates will teach lower-division survey classes in U.S. history and possibly lower division courses in U.S. economic history. Experience teaching at the college or university level is preferred. Daytime, in-person teaching required, though some teaching may take place on-line depending on the applicants' experience. Utah residency is required by the time of appointment.

UVU serves approximately 43,000 students and is located on the western front of the Wasatch Mountains in Orem, Utah, 45 miles south of Salt Lake City.
