The department of Strategic Relations & Communication is encouraging applicants for the Integrated Marketing Generalist position! The purpose of this position is to develop and implement engaging and effective campaigns and tactics that support Strategic Relations & Communication's (SRC) integrated marketing and communication plan. Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Marketing & Content Strategy (MCS), this position will implement full funnel marketing strategies and tactics that are integrated with campaigns and tactics facilitated by other team members within the department and across the university that holistically support CU Boulder's mission, vision and strategic priorities, engages audiences and grows awareness of CU Boulder's brand. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Integrated Marketing
- At the direction of the AVC for Marketing & Content Strategy, plan, implement, and optimize comprehensive integrated marketing and digital marketing strategies to grow engagement and generate leads from target audiences.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including constituent experience, strategic communications, social media, and strategic events, to ensure cohesive and integrated marketing strategies.
- Use a variety of marketing technologies, including CRM and content management, to develop and execute campaigns; to build, test, and validate audiences; and to assess marketing tactics.
- Leverage email marketing and convert website traffic through calls-to-action and landing pages.
- Regularly update and maintain websites with relevant and timely content, suited to the target audience's needs and expectations.
- Develop personas for campaigns by working closely with MCS, SRC, and campus-wide colleagues to understand target audiences, including their unique journeys, experiences, needs, and preferences.
- Advocate for audience-centric marketing tactics and tailor marketing strategies to effectively engage and resonate with each audience.
- Segment target audiences and tailor content for efficient engagement and conversion.
- Implement lead-nurturing campaigns to guide leads through their journey, including follow-up and retargeting campaigns.
- Ensure effective budget allocation and maximum return on investment.
- Stay current with industry trends and standard methodologies and participate in professional development to continually improve integrated marketing efforts.
- Independently source captivating stories that support the strategic messages central to campaigns and critical for achieving results.
- Work with cross-functional teams, including graphic design, multimedia, technology, and visual identity, to ensure content across the campaign is cohesive and accessible.
- Coordinate interviews and photo/video shoots as appropriate.
- Craft engaging written materials that are optimized for distribution channels.
- Segment target audiences and tailor messages for optimal engagement and conversion.
- Ensure content is aligned with CU Boulder's brand and messaging guidelines.
- Use a variety of marketing technologies, including CRM and content management, to develop content and stage content for approval.
- Manage individual content calendar in conjunction with team and office-wide content calendars.
- In collaboration with teams within SRC, ensure marketing data is collected and accessible for analysis and data-driven decision making.
- Monitor trends, audience engagement, analytics, and develop key insights to inform integrated marketing campaigns. Insights should inform paid, earned, owned, social, content, and experiential strategy.
- Collaborate with the constituent experience team to identify the kind of strategies and/or campaigns to run by using A/B testing and monitoring results.
- Use systems and analytics tools to track and monitor campaign performance, analyze performance data, and adjust strategies to optimize return on investment.
- Collaborate with MCS and CXT colleagues to develop campaign tracking, reporting, and measurement plans; and to analyze marketing campaign data and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
- All employees are expected to perform other duties outside of their job description as needed. This can include, but is not limited to, participating in news and media relations efforts, marketing and other paid efforts, strategic event support, supporting crisis communications, and participating in other strategic efforts for Strategic Relations and Communications.

What We Can Offer
- The starting salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000.

What We Require
- A bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, or a related field.
- 1+ year experience coordinating communication projects and/or marketing campaigns for a professional organization.
- 1+ year professional writing experience with a thorough knowledge of grammar.
What You Will Need
- Collaborative approach and proven ability to self-motivate, work in service to others, and use marketing and communication as a tool to drive positive impact.
- Excellent verbal communication, organizational, and technical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as with a team.
- Strong attention to detail and proven ability to self-monitor quality control and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple communication projects and due dates simultaneously.
- Detailed knowledge of grammar.
- Ability to create and publish content across multiple platforms.
- Ability to use Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite to create assets.
