Planning Design & Construction (PD&C) at CU Boulder encourages applications for an Art In Public Spaces Program Manager! This position is responsible for the management of all art placed in public spaces within the three Boulder campus properties, and is responsible for the management of a student exhibition program.

Who We Are
The PD&C department is responsible for the planning, design and construction of buildings on campus, in support of CU Boulder's academic mission. Campus Planning focuses on long-range planning and capital development functions of the organization as a balanced counterpart to the project-related functions of Campus Design & Construction. Campus Planning staff strive to guide campus development in a way that gives physical form to the university's mission, vision, and programs through the effective use of human, environmental, and financial resources.
What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Art in Public Spaces
- Catalog & maintain the art in public spaces including sculpture, paintings and other forms of art.
- Monitor the condition of artworks, identifying conservation needs and coordinating necessary restoration work.
- Develop collection management plan to ensure the preservation and documentation of the art in public spaces.
- Serve on the Art in Public Spaces Committee in the evaluation and selection of new pieces of public art through state funded projects, potential donations and de-accessioning of pieces as needed.
- Fiduciary responsibility for annual art budget and student exhibition program budget.
- Seek external funding and grants to support conservation and restoration programs.
Student Exhibition Program
- Develop and oversee annual call for entries and jury of two student sculpture placements.
Strategic Duties
- Work with campus planners to understand Campus Master Plan relating to site planning.
- Coordinate with campus departments as needed to coordinate inspection and restoration of public art collection.
- Provide subject matter expertise on the restoration of public art collection.
- Grant writing as required to seek additional funding for art.
What You Should Know
This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week.
What We Can Offer
The salary for this 50% position is $24,480 - $30,600 annually.

What We Require
- Bachelors of Fine Art with curatorial and public art management expertise. Equivalent, relevant experience can substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
- Minimum one year experience in art related field.
What You Will Need
- Communication and presentation skills including written, oral and graphic.
- Proficiency in data-based computer programs.
