Job Summary


The sexualized and identity-based violence research assistant position role includes regular research duties such as attend weekly lab meetings, conduct literature reviews, engage in study participant recruitment efforts and data collection protocols, regular survey data monitoring, quantitative data cleaning and analysis, qualitative data coding and analysis, and assistance in knowledge translation and dissemination efforts. In addition, research assistants are expected to stay up to date on their mandatory trainings for both research (e.g., CITI trainings) and youth programming (e.g., Youth Safety, Mandated Reporting).

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be


Research
  • Work with the lab members to identify and complete administrative study activities, such as scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, answering phones and making study-related calls to current or potential study participants
  • Work within the research and manage administrative policies and procedures for the University including but not limited to Institutional Review Board protocols, compliance reporting, and maintaining appropriate certifications
  • Interact with current and/or potential research participants for required research activities, such as participant recruitments, consents, screening, data collection, study participation, and exit interviews
  • Ensure the integrity of data collection and management systems by contributing to aspects of the programming, design, and management of online data collection systems and platforms
  • Conduct ongoing real-time audits and monitoring of data quality to ensure research integrity of study measurement procedures and data collection
  • Support qualitative and quantitative data analyses, including managing raw data files and preparing datasets for analysis (e.g., data entry/transcription, coding, data quality checks, data cleaning, data merging, reshaping, ID linking, documenting final cleaned datasets).
  • Work with investigators to contribute to the analysis and interpretation of study data as well as the preparation of study reports, infographics, presentations, and manuscripts
  • Train and work with undergraduate student assistants, new study personnel, and/or new graduate students in the lab
  • Work with Institute teams such as Communications or outreach coordinator for institutional organizing, trainings, and contributing to the culture and values of the Institute
