Position Announcement


Utah Valley University is seeking a creative and strategic Marketing and Communications Manager to support the Continuing Education division. As a dedicated member of UVU's central Marketing and Communications team, this embedded position serves as the lead marketer for Continuing Education, working closely with both central MarCom and division leadership to shape and implement a cohesive marketing vision. The manager will drive campaigns that promote Continuing Education programs, build awareness, and increase enrollment through thoughtful messaging and targeted outreach.

Summary of Responsibilities


  • Plans, creates, executes, and measures the effectiveness of marketing plans and accompanying collateral. Investigates and develops student and faculty success stories for use in internal and external MarCom material. Reviews and implements SEO Search Engine Optimization and website management systems. Coordinates with vendors and central marketing to develop and execute advertising efforts. Monitors and optimizes efforts using data. Manages integrated marketing strategies and tactics in collaboration with the University Marketing and Communications department.
  • Drives the division's social media presence and initiatives. Creates, publishes, and monitors social media content. Builds and interacts with the division's social media community in collaboration with the university's social media efforts.
  • Assists in the design and coordinates the production process of the division's marketing collateral while adhering to and enforcing university style and branding standards. Generates both marketing and editorial/journalistic written content for a variety of platforms including but not limited to brochures, magazines, newsletters, news articles and releases, advertisements, video scripts, websites, and social media and to a variety of constituents.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align marketing efforts with program objectives and timelines. Monitor marketing performance metrics and provide regular reports to leadership on campaign effectiveness and enrollment results.
  • Vets the achievements of the area for newsworthiness and prepares them for potential publication. Works closely with University Marketing and Communications to coordinate news coverage and monitor resultant coverage.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree, plus one year of relevant marcom experience OR a combination of relevant education and experience totaling five years. Graduate degree in related field preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous work experience in a college or university environment with demonstrated success. Previous marketing manager experience.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

Knowledge
  • Evidence of current knowledge of digital marketing platforms and best practices.
  • Experience in event marketing.
  • Expertise in social media strategy and implementation by managing and optimizing campaigns to achieve objectives.
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design principles and applications, including Adobe products.
  • Basic web knowledge of CMS or HTML.
