Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Part-Time Career Exploration Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the implementation of the Take Back the Trades grant at College of DuPage, funded by the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB). Based at the college, this position is dedicated to creating and facilitating career exploration opportunities in manufacturing-particularly for middle and high school students. The coordinator will lead outreach efforts, engage with local communities and schools, and ensure the effective execution of all grant-related initiatives.

  • Assist in the implementation, tracking, and reporting of Take Back the Trades grant activities.
  • Develop and facilitate career exploration programs for students, with a focus on middle and high school students, and an emphasis on high-demand careers in manufacturing.
  • Coordinate logistics for student visit days, including pre-apprenticeship and a career exposure event at College of DuPage in Fall 2025.
  • Organize and manage the Champion Now series of manufacturing workshops for middle school students at TCD and COD.
  • Support the planning and execution of the manufacturing pre-apprenticeship program, providing high school students and recent graduates with hands-on exposure to careers in manufacturing.
  • Assist high school graduates in exploring and securing apprenticeship opportunities in the manufacturing sector.
  • Track student participation and maintain a comprehensive database of engagement across all connected programs.
  • Contribute written content for grant reports and future funding proposals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals.


  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Minimum: Two-year college or technical degree in the areas of education, human resources, manufacturing or related field
      • Preferred: Four-year degree
    • Experience
      • 1-3 years experience working in office or education setting
      • Experience with event planning/coordination

  • Hiring Range:
    Starting pay begins at $20.14/hr. based on experience
