Job Summary
Performs various cleaning tasks to provide all staff, visitors and patients a safe and clean environment by maintaining standards of cleanliness, sanitation and freedom from hazards and infections.
Responsibilities
1. Provides training for new crew leaders and custodians needing additional training in procedures and methods.
2. Provides effective trainings for maintenance staff for Job safety, Hazards, and PPE.
3. Tests and evaluates new products, supplies, and equipment in order to maximize the greatest cost savings and output efficiency.
4. Prepares reports and completes records concerning tests and evaluations and forwards to Assistant Director of Facilities for review.
5. Makes daily visual inspections of area for cleanliness, work progress, and completed work drawing attention to deficiencies that need to be corrected.
6. Reviews budget on a weekly basis by analyzing the weekly budget expenditures, provided Supervisor with justifications as needed and makes any adjustments needed to keep the budget on track for the fiscal year.
7. Reviews and updates standards program for his/her area and makes recommendations for additions or deletions to the program.
8. Is responsible for ensuring proper staffing of areas; recruits, hires, fires, trains, supervises, and is responsible for other personnel actions within his/her area.
9. Orders and maintains inventory control for keys needed in his/her assigned area.
10. Holds weekly staff meetings with crew leaders to review weekly schedule, discuss problems, and participate in improvised training.

Minimum Qualifications
This position requires two years as a custodial crew leader or the equivalency. The incumbent must have demonstrated oral and written communications skills to deal with a variety of people. The position requires a knowledge of custodial work standards in order to establish, oversee and evaluate work assignments.
Excellent computer skills; and must have a valid Driver's License.
Preferences
1. Experience supervising thirty or more employees in a custodial position
2. Custodial experience within a housing/hospitality/campus environment

Work Schedule Summary: Most work will be done between the hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. However during situations that arise, busy seasons such as move-in, move-out, and summer conferences, weekend and overtime hours may be necessary while also on-call to maintain responsible areas.
