About the Role
Boston University is seeking a collaborative, strategic, and detail-oriented Senior Assistant Registrar for Department Support to join our Office of the University Registrar (OUR). This pivotal role is responsible for leading registrar processes that support new institutional initiatives, ensure data accuracy, and uphold compliance with university, state, and federal policies.
As a key liaison between the OUR and Boston University's schools and colleges, the Senior Assistant Registrar will research, implement, and maintain systems functionality within the student information system (MyBU) and other technologies. They will also supervise a small team while coordinating cross-functional efforts to continuously improve student records processes and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of new MyBU functionality to support academic and registrar initiatives.
- Evaluate and improve existing processes; assess policy changes for operational impact.
- Oversee school and college initiatives, ensuring alignment and clear communication.
- Train and support staff on new systems and processes; troubleshoot records and system issues.
- Collaborate with academic units to identify improvements and gather feedback.
- Represent the Office of the University Registrar on university committees.
- Support special projects and contribute to the overall success of the office.
About the Organization
The Office of the University Registrar is part of the Enrollment & Student Administration unit (ENSA). It supports the instructional and student progress endeavors of Boston University by providing quality services to students, faculty, academic and administrative departments, and the public. We supervise registration and the evaluation of transfer credit, maintain student academic records and record grades, issue transcripts, verify enrollment and graduation, issue diplomas, assign classrooms, produce the class schedule, schedule final examinations, and oversee production of the Bulletin and the Degree Advice system.

About the Candidate:
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- 3-5 years of experience, with 2+ years of management experience required.
- Demonstrated experience managing staff and complex administrative processes.
- Strong understanding of student information systems (preferably PeopleSoft or similar).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate across departments and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
