Job Summary:
The Resource Sharing Specialist works within Library Services to ensure the smooth operation and delivery of resource-sharing (interlibrary loan) services. Assists in providing general operations that comprise access to the collections and circulation of materials in all formats. Assures that staff, operations, and technology come together seamlessly to create the most positive experience for the user.

- Reports to the Assistant Director of Collection Strategies and Discovery; supervisory responsibility of student employees

What You Will Do:
- Interlibrary Loan and Resource Sharing Management: Provides on-site leadership for resource sharing (ILL). Supervises the verifying and processing of routine ILL requests via ILLiad, OCLC, RapidILL, EZBorrow, and document delivery suppliers, ensures compliance with the ALA ILL Code, as well as statewide and local contracts, such as IDS of Pennsylvania.
- Workflow Optimization and Technology Integration: Works with organizations such as PALCI and Project ReShare to optimize interlibrary loan workflows and automation. Assesses existing ILL operations, technology, and workflows and coordinates with the others to implement new services and technologies to meet the University's research, teaching, and learning needs.
- Collection Development and Management: Contributes to the library's collection analysis, open access, and collection development efforts in the course of regular resource-sharing duties. Works collaboratively and in tandem with peers to ensure that work is not duplicated and that costs are contained or reduced.
- Circulation and Access Services: Works on the library services desk as assigned, supervising students in the execution of their work. Exercises independent judgment and discretion by making decisions to depart from standard policy or procedure as deemed necessary.
- Outreach, Collaboration, and Stakeholder Management: Maintains relationships with key contacts at member libraries, partners, and vendors related to ILL and resource sharing; develops relationships with faculty, students, and staff; and works in collaboration with other departments within the library and the University.

Required:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Professional Work Experience: One or more years working in a library or office setting
Knowledge Areas and Skills:
- A strong collaborator, capable of working with diverse groups including faculty, students, staff, and the public
- Technological proficiency with demonstrated aptitude for learning new software and systems. Ability to incorporate new technologies and innovations into existing operations
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to guide, lead and develop student employees
- Willingness to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and eagerness to learn new skills
Preferred, but not required:
- Professional Work Experience: Experience working in academic libraries
Knowledge Areas and Skills:
- Experience with ILLiad and Interlibrary loan, understanding of linked data and bibliographic citations
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and implement projects in a technology-rich environment
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and grasp books
- Proficiency in using a mouse and keyboard
- Work is performed in a standard office environment
- Occasional need to sit, reach and bend
- Periodic exposure to dust, mildew, and other potential allergens from old paper and materials

The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time, all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of the application.
