Position Details:
One regular, part-time, grant-funded position, 18 hours per week, 12 months per year on the Oceanside Campus. The normal work schedule will be 9:00 am - 3:30 pm, 3 days per week (Monday-Thursday, with some flexibility on which days). This position is currently funded through 6/30/2027; continued employment after this date is contingent on grant renewal. The person selected for this position will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.
The first-level interviews with the screening and interview committee will be conducted via Zoom, and the second-level interviews may be in person or via Zoom.
RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:
MiraCosta College Board Policy 7800: Employee Residency requires all classified staff, administrators, and temporary/hourly short-term employees to maintain and permanently reside in a principal place of residence in the state of California that is within two hundred (200) road miles from the employees regularly assigned district worksite. This policy aims to promote efficiency and continuity throughout all campus administrative functions, provide students with high-quality assistance and accessibility to all academic and campus services, ensure that students receive an engaging education, and respond to emerging student needs.
The District may consider an individual request to temporarily reside outside of the State of California or outside the 200-mile limit on a case-by-case basis, not to exceed twelve consecutive months.

Salary Range: 20
Compensation:
Starting at $32.98 per hour (range 20, step 1), with annual salary step increases up to step 5. In addition, after five years of district service, employees earn a longevity stipend that increases over time.

Basic Function:
Under general supervision, perform specialized administrative and clerical duties involving clinical placement coordination for programs within Nursing & Allied Health. This role serves as a critical link between clinical agencies, faculty, and students to ensure smooth and efficient clinical placements, managing contracts, student and faculty compliance, scheduling, and documentation to support the educational and clinical objectives of the program.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Serves as a liaison for communication with clinical agencies and faculty regarding clinical learning experience, to secure student placements, increase the number of clinical placements, track agency concerns, requirements, and learning opportunities.
2. Maintains information regarding orientation and facility requirements; reviews student records to verify compliance with health and facility requirements.
3. Assists in the identification, recruitment, and touring of new clinical agency student placement sites under the direction of the Dean, Program Directors, Assistant Directors, and/or Department Chair.
4. Negotiates clinical schedules with existing clinical sites and assists in the development of the rotation schedules in collaboration with the Dean, Program Directors, Assistant Directors, and/or Department Chair.
5. Attends required meetings in collaboration with the Dean, Program Directors, Assistant Directors, and/or Department Chair.
6. Schedules and notifies students and faculty regarding clinical orientations for each student clinical group each semester.
7. Manages clinical rotations in designated computer software programs.
8. Verifies clinical compliance for all students and faculty. Work closely with students who are out of compliance to help them meet all necessary requirements. Collaborate with faculty and other staff if needed to facilitate compliance with set requirements.

9. Completes all clinical paperwork needed for each clinical rotation.
10. Provide administrative assistance to the Program Directors as needed in support of various tasks and projects.

1. Train and provide work direction to student workers and other hourly workers as assigned.

Education & Experience:
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:
Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and two years of clerical or administrative work experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
NOTE: For work experience, one "year" is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months, or at least 2,080 hours.
