Systems Librarian (Instructor Faculty) with the University of Colorado Denver, Anschutz
(Denver, CO)
The Systems Librarian is responsible for the management, ongoing maintenance, and development of Auraria Library's integrated library system, and serves in a lead role in any ILS migrations, upgrades, and/or implementations. Facilitates instruction sessions related to accessing and using library systems and resources. Maintain and enhance the integrated library system (ILS), including administering the system; keeping track of server updates; troubleshooting issues; maintaining the loan rules, staff permissions, and other key settings; implementing new features; maintaining the online public access catalog; exporting bibliographic records to the discovery service nightly and quarterly. Serve as the primary contact with the ILS vendor and open support tickets as issues arise. Work with Tri-institutional partners on acquiring and loading patron data. Serve as point-person for ILS outages and disruptions of services for all library staff; collaborate with stakeholders (IT and Web Services, vendors, etc.) to resolve problems promptly. Track all system upgrades and communicate with colleagues about new features and any expected changes in workflows related to upgrades. Support library departments by evaluating and testing new software/ILS features and gathering feedback from stakeholders as part of the process. Train staff on relevant modules of the ILS, including upgrades and new products. Ensure that library materials are readily discoverable and accessible to meet users' needs. Promote interoperability of the ILS and other discovery and access tools including, but not limited to, the link resolver/knowledge base (360 Services), the discovery system (Summon), off-campus authentication (EZproxy), Interlibrary loan (Illiad), and self-checkout machines (Bibliotheca). Enhance integration between the ILS and Prospector (Colorado Union Catalog), and work with staff at the Colorado Alliance of Research Libraries to troubleshoot any Prospector integration issues. Retrieve usage data from the ILS at the request of colleagues. Maintain up-to-date detailed digital documentation of the ILS settings, configurations, and regular processes. Develops and delivers one-time, course-integrated instruction sessions to undergraduate and graduate students. Facilitates instruction sessions (face-to-face and online) on a broad range of topics related to Library resources access and use. Participates in orientations, including new student orientations, transfer student orientations, new faculty orientations, and new employee orientations among others. Participates in teaching and assessing programmatic instruction for foundational courses. Facilitates training workshops for library faculty and staff on new and existing resources and technologies. Instructions sessions are taught in (but not limited to) the following courses: CDES 3300 - Data-Driven Design (Metropolitan State University of Denver), ENG 1020 - Research and Argument Writing (Metropolitan State University of Denver), ENGL 2030 - Core Composition II (University of Colorado Denver), ENG 1022 - English Composition II (Community College of Denver) Leadership and Service. Participates in Library and campus-wide committees and CU Denver faculty governance. Serve on the cross-departmental Library Technology Team and the Discovery Committee. Maintains membership in the ILS User Group and attends regional and national meetings and training as the library budget allows. Keep up with trends in library discovery and access and the development of library systems.
Requirements
This position requires at least a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Library and Information Science, or a closely related field and 4 years of experience. Must have some experience in each of the following skills: Administering an integrated library system or library services platform. Coordinating with vendors, IT, and other stakeholders to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues. Demonstrated understanding of the role of library systems, particularly their role in user experience, as well as the interoperability between various discovery and access systems (i.e., knowledge base/link resolvers, integrated library systems, discovery systems, etc.)

- The ability to sit for extended periods, stand and walk occasionally, reach with hands and arms, use hands to manipulate a keyboard and mouse, and have good near vision for computer work;often requiring minimal lifting, but may involve bending or reaching to retrieve items from shelves or drawers.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at a minimum, $54,808.00 per year.
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
