Position Announcement

Join Utah Valley University as a Talent Operations Specialist and play a key role in shaping the recruitment experience. In this position, you will partner with hiring departments to develop effective strategies and innovative initiatives that attract top talent to UVU. You will provide expert guidance and operational support throughout the recruitment process, ensuring alignment with university policies and goals. Summary of Responsibilities


  • Employment Operations. Conducts a variety of tasks associated with the advertisement, recruitment, and hiring of members. Collaborates with departments and search chairs to determine a hiring strategy to fit both the position requirements and the department's needs. Processes all clerical operations of posting vacant positions through the university's applicant tracking system. Regularly provides UVU departments with training, guidance, and assistance in the navigation of UVU's web-based applicant tracking system and selection process. Finalizes recruitment by collecting hiring documentation from search committees, maintaining strict confidentiality of clients and records.
  • External Recruiting. Identifies passive and active candidates by leveraging a variety of recruitment resources, career fairs, and referrals. Communicates and coordinates recruitment advertising. Serves as a liaison with UVU departments, external community groups, and organizations to promote and support the university's overall recruitment efforts. Provides support to the university's external job posting vendor.
  • Policies and Procedures. Interprets and applies university policies to issues in employment. Provides advice and consultation to university personnel regarding best employment practices and adherence to policies and procedures to ensure hiring compliance.
  • Training. Identifies training needs across campus related to the applicant tracking system by analyzing gaps and changes in industry best practices. Creates and maintains online and workshop training materials with relevant practices in compliance with university standards and internal policies.
  • Employment Branding. Contributes to the strategic design and implementation of the Recruiting Team's branding campaign. Works to fully utilize online resources to promote the university as an employer of choice.
  • Other Duties. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field plus one year of applicable experience, or a combination of related experience and education totaling five years.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field
PHR certification
