Job Summary
Coordinate the successful enrollment of military-affiliated students through: university-wide and external community outreach and training; outbound student and partner communications; student transition and support programming; new student recruitment; and other efforts to meet the goals of Georgia Southern University.
Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, serve as the primary coordinator for recruiting and orientation/transition activities for military-affiliated students
- Hire, train, and supervise VA and Georgia Southern student employees on the Statesboro Campus
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Military Resource Center and student support to Military & Veteran Services offices on the Statesboro Campus
- Coordinate and monitor all newsletters, websites, and other communications for the department
- Plan and administer training programs for departments, faculty, staff, and students to support military and veteran initiatives including Green Zone training
- Participate in SOARs, high school fairs, military education fairs, coordinate Military Visit Days and all military connected orientation activities
- Participate in community and civic outreach programs and external agency engagement efforts in support of the University's vision for military-affiliated students
- Design, deliver, and maintain programs and special events aimed at Veteran student
- Success, retention, progression, and graduation
- Provide strategy on marketing materials that highlight the University's military-affiliated students and outreach and educational activities to support them
- Plan and conduct events aimed at providing a military and veteran-friendly campus culture including programming for military-affiliated students
- Collect data and interpret results to improve outreach, persistence, retention and completion rates for military-affiliated students
- When required, certify Tuition Assistance requests from active duty, guard and reserve service members
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
- Three (3) or more years of related work experience

Proposed Salary
$20.71 - $25.88
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
