Job Summary
The Office of Information Technology encourages applications for a Hardware Asset Management Specialist! This position is responsible for managing OIT warehouse assets and supporting procedures. This involves capital equipment and materials receiving, storage, distribution of goods to designated OIT equipment locations, inventory and asset tracking, surplus of state property, and other areas of logistics and support. This position is responsible for specified inventory. This position develops and maintains procedures for receiving, processing, storing, and distributing materials and capital assets. It develops and maintains procedures to improve storage efficiency and provide effective customer service. It is necessary for this position to have a high degree of knowledge and training in OSHA requirements, general warehousing, and forklift operation for the health and safety of all visitors and employees. This position is the on-site building proctor for the space, in charge of warehouse security, and first point of contact for the security vendor.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Receiving/Distribution Oversight:
- Manage the receiving and distribution of OIT equipment and inventory and the related logistics to OIT equipment locations.
- Supervise the inspection, verification and receiving of incoming deliveries.
- Use asset tracking tool to digitally receive and communicate the receipt to partners.
- Ensure timely distribution of project materials.
- Manage and coordinate material distribution with IT customers and hired contractors in compliance with University and State of Colorado standards.
- Keep accurate records of all materials distributed.
- Develop customer service standards and train staff on procedures.
- Assist in the return shipments of RMAs.
- Manage warehouse organization.
- Arrange materials in safe and efficient manner.
- Label and store inventory and project materials in proper locations.
- Develop and document warehouse storage scheme that is accessible to customers.
- Manage the repair and maintenance of warehouse equipment including fork and pallet trucks.
- Train staff on operation of fork and pallet trucks.
- Operate fork truck in a safe and efficient manner.
- Train and enforce staff in general warehouse safety in compliance with OSHA standards.
- Manage inventory, keeping acceptable par levels.
- Use the asset tracking tool to pull and issue orders and train others on this process.
- Conduct regular cycle counts to ensure accurate records.
- Advise on par level suggestions using data such as historical usage.
- Use software to check in/check out equipment.
- Affix asset tracking tags to required assets.
- Use ServiceNow software to keep accurate records of asset locations and train others on this.
- Report location changes to the appropriate department if applicable.
- Document all returned equipment verifying with customers the need to return to stock or assign to surplus.
- Use provided software from CU Property Services for the surplus of state property in accordance with University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
- Keep accurate records of removed equipment.
- Work with asset owners and custodians to ensure needed forms are submitted for capital assets to be removed from all necessary records.
- Solicit the sale of high value equipment to trusted vendors in compliance with University and State of Colorado policies and procedures.
- Analyze processes and make suggestions to improve efficiencies and reduce waste.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives that impact the warehouse and asset space.
- Assess warehouse space and suggest/lead approved improvements related to efficiency, safety, and logistics.
- Providing supervision, coaching, and coordination to student employees.
- Recruiting and hiring student employees.
- Support campus IT equipment return initiative by supervising and staging equipment for surplus as needed.
- Coordinate pick-ups with Property Services.

- Salary: $57,100 - $64,243.

What We Require
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience from an accredited institution. A combination of education and/or proven experience as described below may be substituted for the degree on a year for year basis.
- 1 year of experience that includes:
- Inventory and hardware asset management.
- General warehousing and forklift usage.
- Must have a valid U.S. Driver's License.

- IT experience strongly preferred.
