Job Summary

The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah invites applications for an immediate postdoctoral position in Dr. Paul S. Bernstein's laboratory. The translational research focuses on the role of nutrition to treat and prevent retinal diseases throughout the lifespan. The successful candidate will be involved in designing and conducting research projects and will receive advanced training to further develop professional skills and research independence for a successful career. The Bernstein Lab, situated on the upper campus of the University of Utah, benefits from extensive access to state-of-the-art core facilities and resources, as well as a vibrant collaborative research community

Responsibilities
1. Candidates will report directly to the Principal Investigator
2. Demonstrate effective communication skills; present research at national meetings and author manuscripts for publication in scientific journals
3. Collaborate with other laboratory personnel to execute aims of grants
4. Provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students

Minimum Qualifications
We seek highly motivated candidates with a recent PhD or MD/PhD in pharmacology, biochemistry, or nutrition and integrative physiology. Preferred qualifications include a demonstrated record of achievements and publications, and experience in clinical trials research, statistics, ocular imaging, and various forms of nutritional biomarker analysis.
