The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Utah is seeking a board-certified, or board eligible, Advanced Heart Failure/Transplant Cardiologist with an interest in academic practice to join our dynamic Heart Failure and Heart Transplant Services multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients with advanced heart disease.
This role involves joining a highly collaborative team of nine advanced heart failure/transplant cardiologists, twelve advanced practice clinicians (NP/PA). Educating three ACGME Heart Failure/ Transplant Cardiology fellows, and eighteen ACGME Cardiovascular Disease Fellows annually.
Our institution boasts state-of-the-art clinical and research facilities within a vibrant academic setting. We offer a full spectrum of services for both acute and chronic heart failure, including pharmacotherapy, temporary and durable mechanical circulatory support, and heart transplantation. Additionally, we have specialized programs focusing on hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, amyloidosis, sarcoidosis, and cardio-oncology. Our commitment to research is evident through our comprehensive basic, translational, clinical, and population research programs in advanced heart disease, supported by extramural funding.
We are seeking candidates interested in an academic career as a clinician-investigator, physician-scientist, or clinician-educator. The selected individual will have opportunities to engage in patient care, education, and research, contributing to the ongoing growth and excellence of our cardiovascular program.
Minimum Qualifications: Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiovascular Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM), be board-certified or board-eligible in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology and be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Utah. For clinician-educator or clinician-investigators, board-certification in Echocardiography by the National Board of Echocardiography is preferred.
