GLAUCOMA SPECIALIST
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Utah, John A. Moran Eye Center is actively seeking an ophthalmologist, for a glaucoma specialty position leading our surgical treatment of glaucoma laboratory under the direction of Dr. Ike Ahmed. This will include testing new drainage devices, research with our team on outflow resistance, and developing improved surgical care and devices for the treatment of glaucoma. The laboratory need is great so clinical care would be limited to 30% of the time. Clinical care is optional and would include glaucoma care delivery at our main location and satellite clinics. Responsibilities would include resident and fellow teaching and training in the clinic. Duties will include complicated glaucoma care. This is a surgical position in the clinical track. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with experience. This is a full-time clinical faculty position in an academic setting. Candidates must have completed an ophthalmology residency program if clinical care is involved, should be board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Ophthalmology if there is to be clinical care, and glaucoma specialty trained.
