Job Description:

The tutor will provide in-person and online tutoring services to Medical Assisting students.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide subject tutoring in Medical Assisting
Provide one-on-one and group tutoring
Coordinate with Medical Assisting faculty on subject matter as needed
Focuses on the Commonwealth's Equity Agenda by applying related best practices throughout all job functions.

Professional Tutors are part time employees hired on an as needed basis. Positions may consist of day, night, or weekend positions and may be in Brockton, Canton, Middleborough, or any other instructional site.

Please note: Positions will be available pending sufficient enrollment. Qualified applicants will be contacted by the academic department.

Requirements:

Associate's degree or certification in Medical Laboratory, medical assisting, and/or phlebotomy

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory or medical assisting
Experience teaching or tutoring in a medical assisting program

COVID VACCINATION REQUIREMENT: Candidates for employment should be aware that all Community College students, faculty, and staff are required to be fully vaccinated by January 2022. Accordingly, initial employment is dependent upon receipt and verification of full vaccination status records; details of how to fulfill vaccine record verification requirements will be provided during the hire and onboarding process.

Additional Information:

Position Status: Part-time, Non-benefited Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) union position.

This position is subject to grant funding (Perkins Grant) and is contingent upon availability of funds.

Hours: Vary, not to exceed 936 hours annually.

Semester: Spring 2022, Fall 2022, Spring 2023

Schedule: Tutoring hours are based on demand for services, compatibility of schedules, and

staffing needs. Tutors are scheduled on a semester-by-semester basis.

Salary: $ 30.03 Hourly

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites.
